Col de l'Ecuelle Loop

A 50km gravel-bike or MTB friendly loop from Morzine. 3-5 hours, 1,420m.
Col de l'Ecuelle Loop
Looking towards Lac Leman

This ride takes you out of Morzine and down the river trail through St Jean d'Aulps, Seytroux and La Baume. It then heads back up the valley via the Col du Corbier at 1230m and the Col de l'Ecuelle at just over 1500m. It's suitable for gravel or mountain bikes.

The descent from the high point is probably on the limit of "gravel" being as it's got some large loose rocks and gradients over 10%. A short singletrack section from the alpage at La Foyet across the valley to Les Fours de Lez ups the technical difficulty a touch, but is short enough to walk if you don't fancy it.

After that you're back on a decent track to Mont Evian where you rejoin the tarmac to finish off the way down to the main road again. Once there you can retrace your route back up to Morzine via the tarmac or trail as you please.
